Moms deserve to be given the same love, devotion and care that they give their babies, especially on Mother's Day

As you know by now, we’re on a mission to bring luxury to the motherhood experience, one Luxe Labor & Delivery Gown at a time. But why? Well, the answer is simple. Moms deserve to be given the same love, devotion and care that they give their babies. Let's support mothers by encouraging them to care for themselves this Mother's Day.

If you're a mom and you're finding it challenging to take moments to yourself for rest, self-care and self-reflection, you're not alone. All mothers—new and seasoned—struggle with this at some point in their journey. So, whether you're celebrating your first Mother's Day or your twentieth, here are some ways you can mother yourself this Mother's Day. PS: We've included some Mother's Day deals and codes so you can treat yourself.

How To Hold Space For Yourself As A Mom This Mother's Day

1. Spend Some Time Alone

Yes thats right, it's ok to want to get a break this Mother's Day. Here are some ways you can make the most of a well deserved break this mothers day weekend:

  • Create a sacred space: Create a space where you feel safe and free to let your guard down. This could mean a relaxing bath or a meditation session on Mother's Day or even before if you're celebrating with in-laws or your own mom.
  • Go to the spa: A spa day can provide pampering and self-care activities like massages and facials. It also might be an opportunity to spend some time with friends or solo, whatever sounds more rejuvenating to you.
  • Take care of yourself: Try to sleep, stretch and relax. Give yourself the opportunity to do so. Making a bouquet of flowers can be a creative and fulfilling way to recharge or perhaps spending some time journaling.
  • Note: If you're not able to have some child-free time in this season of life, give yourself the permission to rest during nap time or spend time reading a book instead of catching up on household tasks or being productive after bedtime. You deserve downtime, not just on Mother's Day but every day.

Elevate your Sacred Space

Splurge on elevating one of your most sacred spaces—your bed—this Mother's Day. One way to ensure you'll get better quality sleep is by creating a comfortable space to rest. Both of us love Parachute sheets because they're soft and luxurious. And right now, the brand is offering an additional 20% off sale items for a limited time.

2. Indulge in Self- Care

  • Exercise: Choose a workout that you love to do and that brings you endorphins. This can even be some simple stretching or a walk around the block on Mother's Day. It doesn't have to be high-intensity, as long as it brings you joy.
  • Nourish Yourself: Eat well and take time to nurture yourself with whole, nutrient-dense foods. Health is wealth.
  • Ask For Help - Mother's Day is the time to ask for support. Let loved ones know how you feel and what would be helpful to you. Telling your loved ones exactly how you'd like to be celebrated this Mother's Day and what you might like to do is both helpful for you and them.

No matter how you're celebrating Mother's Day, even if you are doing something small  for yourself, it helps to make a plan. If you know Mother's Day might be hard for you, plan how you'll spend the day in advance. A great way to ensure you'll be able to follow through on your Mother's Day plan is to make back-up child care plans so that you are safeguarding your time in case something happens to your plan A. Investing in your alone time and self-care is truly an investment  that benefits your whole family.

Gift Yourself Peace of Mind

Nutrafol is offering a free travel kit, worth $61 to celebrate Mother's Day, when you sign up for a 3 or 6 month hair growth subscription. Struggling with post-partum hair loss is not fun, and unfortunately a real thing that lots of mothers deal with. Lex took this during her second postpartum period and it worked wonders for regrowth. This can be a very impactful gift to give yourself this Mother's Day.

3. Celebrate Yourself

Mother's Day is the perfect time to treat yourself and not feel guilty doing it (not that you should ever feel guilty about that, but alas it's a thing). Give yourself the gift you want most:

  • Pamper Yourself - Go get your nails done or finally book that massage. There are lots of in home services that can come to you so that you don't have to leave your house, like a massage via the Soothe App or a manicure with Glamsquad. Lex likes to book things like this during nap time so she can care for herself without taking time away from her kids.
  • Lounge - Doing nothing can be the best gift to yourself if you are an introvert or have felt burnt out lately. Reading or enjoying a craft are other ways you can spend some time lounging. Lots of Little Shadows Moms tell us that their favorite thing about our Luxe Labor and Delivery Gown is that they enjoyed just lounging in it after giving birth and during their postpartum period. (Keep an eye out for our next product launch, our Rest & Recovery Gown which is meant for just that.)
  • Gifts - It's alway fun to buy something you've been wanting and Mother's Day is the perfect time to do so. Bonus points if it's for pure enjoyment, not necessarily for practicality.

Invest in a Pregnancy-Friendly Perfume

Many women wonder what sort of perfumes are suitable while pregnant or nursing and we like to err on the side of caution with clean fragrances. The Maison Margiela 'REPLICA' Memory Box Mini Perfume Sampler Set is the perfect option to wear for clean perfume. All the scents smell divine and they are safe to wear during pregnancy.

Better yet, Sephora is running a Mother's Day deal where you get 4x points on all scents from now until 5/12 - Use Code GET4XPTS to enjoy these savings.

Induldge in The Luxe Labor and Delivery Gown

This weekend only we are offering you 20% our Luxe Labor and Delivery Gown and site-wide, as our Mother's Day gift to you! Use code MotherYourself at checkout. Offer expires 5/12.
